In this tutorial you will learn how to make twirls in just few minutes. It is very easy, so let’s get started!
Final image
Step 1: Create a new document 400 x 400 px (or any size you want) and fill it with black. Than create new layer, and with polygonal lasso tool make selection like on the next picture:
Now fill it whit any color you want (I used white).
Step 2: Go to Filter/Distort/Twirl and set the slider to maximum left or right (your choice). You will get something like this:
You can try to experiment with this settings.
Step 3: Now duplicate layer, and go to Filter/Blur/Gaussian blur, set radius to 20. Than go to blending options and set your settings like on the next picture:
Now move your second layer on top of all layers, and you will get something like this:
